The Chicago Bears (2-6) released their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 9 game against the New Orleans Saints (4-4).
The Bears have ruled out safety Jaquan Brisker (concussion), linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (knee), right guard Nate Davis (ankle) and cornerback Terell Smith (illness) for Sunday’s game.
While quarterback Justin Fields was previously ruled out by Matt Eberflus on Monday, the third-year quarterback returned to practice in limited fashion on Friday. He’s still ruled doubtful. But it’s certainly encouraging with Chicago staring down a Thursday night matchup against the Carolina Panthers (1-7) in Week 10.
But there is encouraging news from the injury report, as safety Eddie Jackson (foot) and Center Lucas Patrick (back) didn’t have game designations. Left tackle Braxton Jones, who’s been designated to return from injured reserve, was a full participant Friday and listed as questionable. It sounds like he could be removed from IR ahead of Sunday’s game.
