It’s been a quiet week by Chicago Bears standards (especially after the circus that was last week at Halas Hall). That is, until receiver Chase Claypool spoke up.

During Friday’s open locker room session with the media, Claypool was asked by ESPN’s Courtney Cronin if the Bears were using him the right way to show “the best that he can do.”

Claypool shook his head and simply replied, “No.”

As a follow-up, Claypool was asked if his situation with the Bears wasn’t ideal.

“No, I wouldn’t say that,” Claypool said, via the Sun-Times. “Every situation has the ability to be ideal. I think we’re just working towards that. I’m not gonna say that. I wouldn’t say that it’s not an ideal place for me. Obviously, there’s other places. You can say, ‘Oh, I want to be on the best offense with the highest passing yards,’ but that doesn’t happen in football. You just have to make do with what you’ve got.”

Claypool has been a non-factor on offense this season, totaling just four catches for 51 yards through three games. But Claypool is putting the trust in his coaches to figure out how to best utilize his abilities.

“I’ll let them decide that. I’m not gonna give any pointers,” he said. “That’s their job to decide, and I’ll just do what they tell me to do.”
