Bengals remain quiet in free agency with training camp looming

Cincinnati Bengals free-agent target Trai Turner recently said during an interview that he’s ready to find a new team.

And that brings up the thought — are the Bengals close to making another move in free agency?

Technically speaking, the Bengals haven’t made any sort of notable roster move recently outside of signing this year’s draft class.

But sitting on $20 million in free cap space, one could reasonably expect the team to keep sniffing around free agents like Turner. Offensive line help, rotational boosts to the pass-rush and general depth additions would make some sense.

Realistically, the biggest move the Bengals could make over the summer is extending somebody like Jessie Bates, but that wouldn’t have the biggest impact on this year’s cap space.

For now, the Bengals seem content to keep playing the waiting game when it comes to any further roster additions. But as any team that has only won six games over the last two years should, surely the front office continues to eye the list of names available.
