Bengals make roster moves after waiver wire claim ahead of Week 9

The Cincinnati Bengals made a few minor housekeeping moves before the team squares off with the Cleveland Browns in Week 9.

After adding cornerback Vernon Hargreaves on the waiver wire, the Bengals announced they added him to the roster and waived defensive end Darius Hodge and cornerback Nick McCloud.

The Bengals made two moves there because they also activated offensive lineman Hakeem Adeniji from injured reserve. As we wrote this week, the Bengals might have big plans for him pretty soon.

Of note is the move with Hodge, an undrafted free agent who put on a show during training camp and the preseason and was getting some backup snaps. They’ll surely try to nudge him back to the practice squad if no other team claims him.
