Ogunjobi’s injury is currently unknown.

One of the Cincinnati Bengals’ most important free agent acquisitions will start training camp from the sidelines.

Defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi was placed on the team’s Active/Physically Unable to Perform list Wednesday morning.

Ogunjobi, a fifth-year player, signed a one-year, $6.2 millon deal with the Bengals this offseason. He was a third-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2017 and spent the first four years of his career in Cleveland. With the Browns, Ogunjobi racked up 108 solo tackles, 29 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles in 60 games (47 starts).

Cincinnati signed the 27-year old Ogunjobi to start next to D.J. Reader at defensive tackle, so while Ogunjobi is out, Mike Daniels is likely to take his reps with the starters.

Ogunjobi’s exact injury is unknown, but being placed on the PUP list certainly doesn’t mean it’s a serious injury. Renell Wren and Riley Lees were both placed on the PUP list earlier this week and both have since come off of it.

We should learn more about Ogunjobi’s injury from head coach Zac Taylor later today.
