The Cincinnati Bengals enter December at 7-4 and with four of their final six at home, fully controlling their playoff destiny.

A December playoff push is a rare thing for the Bengals in recent years. But after two tough years of total roster and program overhaul under Zac Taylor, the third year is providing a proof of concept.

That in mind, Elizabeth Blackburn penned a letter to fans outlining some of the major reasons for fans to be excited for Week 13 and to get on down to Paul Brown Stadium for the game against the Los Angeles Chargers:

  1. Our TEAM of young and exciting players is 7-4, boasts the 6th best point differential in the NFL, and is one of the few Clubs in the league that ranks in the top-10 in both Scoring Offense and Scoring Defense.

  2. Our GAMEDAY ATMOSPHERE is buoyed by the biggest improvement in game entertainment metrics the NFL has ever charted thanks to packed crowds and our fans’ involvement in enhanced introductions, new videos, and the Ruler of The Jungle Ceremony.

The 6-5 Chargers are right behind the Bengals in official AFC playoff standings, so the Bengals have a chance to gain some serious ground.

This week, though, is potentially dicey for the Bengals from an attendance standpoint because Chargers fans understandably don’t travel all that well (for a wide host of reasons). It makes sense that the organization would choose this week for some additional messaging to fans, both because of the opponent and the fact four of the next six unfold at PBS.
