Three 1,000-yard receivers? Bengals have the best kind of problem possible

The Cincinnati Bengals have one of the best problems a team could have — everybody seems to agree the offense can put up wicked numbers, but nobody can figure out who does what.

A recent tweet from Pro Football Focus says it all. The outlet, like many, have speculated the Bengals could have two — or even three — 1,000-yard receivers next season.

Thank the wicked depth chart consisting of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.

And it’s not that unrealistic of an idea, especially after we just saw Zac Taylor keeping Joe Burrow on a league-leading attempts pace last year with a lesser roster around the quarterback.

Even if the Bengals don’t end up with a trio of 1,000-yard receivers, it’s nearly impossible to tell who lands where on the stat chart, too. Does Boyd feast so much from the slot while defenses worry about the other two that he leads the team in receiving? Or does Higgins continue his stunning ascent and claim the throne? What about Chase, the pro-ready weapon with major upside and a built-in rapport with Burrow already?

See? No easy answers. But that’s a good problem to have. Nobody is debating whether the offense can be good — it’s a debate about its immense ceiling and who might do what within it.
