The Cincinnati Bengals got past all the wacky officiating of Jerome Boger and company in Saturday’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders. This week, they draw another former Super Bowl referee on their trip to Tennessee to face the Titans.

Fourteen-year veteran official Clete Blakeman will be the referee for Saturday’s battle in Nashville. The Omaha, Nebraska-based attorney will be working his 12th postseason assignment and fourth Divisional Playoff game. He has also worked four Wild Card Playoffs, three Conference Championships and oversaw the Denver Broncos defeating the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.

Blakeman worked two Bengals games this season and the Bengals are 2-0 in those games, including Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Week 16 against the Baltimore Ravens. The Titans had him for one game, their Monday night win in Week 6 over the Buffalo Bills.

Interestingly enough, the road team has been quite successful in Blakeman’s game this season, going 10-6 with wins in five of the last six games Blakeman has called.

The other referees for this weekend are Ron Torbert (49ers-Packers), Shawn Hochuli (Rams-Buccaneers) and John Hussey (Bills-Chiefs). One of these four officials will also be the referee for Super Bowl LVI.
