Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor recently opened up about the team’s search for a new offensive coordinator in the wake of Brian Callahan going to serve as head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

Appearing on “In the Trenches” with Dave Lapham, Taylor talked about the search that will take place inside and outside the building.

“There’s great people out there that I know,” Taylor told Dave Lapham. “There’s some that I’m interested to know. And also, I have a lot of confidence in the guys that we have in the building. So there’s a lot you got to take in and it’s not just a clear cut ‘this is how we’re gonna do it’ and move on. There’s an interview process that will take place that’s very necessary.”

Taylor and Co. made good on that quickly after Callahan departed, interviewing one outside candidate on Tuesday.

Current quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher remains the favorite to get promoted from within, but league rules require the Bengals to look outside if necessary, too.

Pitcher, however, currently has three offensive coordinator interviews lined up with other teams.
