New Orleans grabs a linebacker with a lot to like in the fifth round.

With their second of three fifth-round NFL Draft selections, the New Orleans Saints select Jaylan Ford, a 6’2” linebacker from Texas.

Ford, a four-year player for the Longhorns, comes to the Black and Gold with 287 career tackles, including 100+ his last two seasons, and six career interceptions. New Orleans was rumored to be in the linebacker market this weekend after the recent poor play of that group.

Ford brings a ton of upside potential in a low-risk slot for the Saints as the Frisco native will look to add depth in both the linebacking corps as well as the special teams unit.

He’s played in the Caesers Superdome before, battling Michael Penix Jr and Washington in the College Football Playoff this past January.
