Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has the eye of a legendary gunslinger.

Even casual NFL fans know the name: Brett Favre.

The Hall of Famer recently appeared on SiriusXM NFL radio and tackled the subject of Burrow and the AFC North champs coming out of that win over the Chiefs:

“A guy like Joe Burrow is certainly in a different class. He’s basically picking up where he left off his last year at LSU. And so is (Ja’Marr) Chase. That being said, very impressive against an extremely good football team in Kansas City. They needed to beat Kansas City. And Kansas City jumps out and looks great. I’m thinking ‘this is over before it even started.’ But Joe – he got on a hot streak, and the rest is history.

Favre went on to suggest that even the Bengals are probably a little surprised Burrow has come along so quickly into this top-10 passer. But it’s true regardless — he threw for a franchise-record 525 yards and four scores against the Ravens, then 446 and four more against the Chiefs.

This year, he’s completing a stunning 70.4 percent of his passes with a massive 8.9 yards per attempt, which is borderline unfair to opponents.

It’s also worth wondering just how high Burrow’s ceiling is once he’s actually had a normal summer and preseason process, as well as a better offensive line in front of him. Those are a few of the reasons he should be in the MVP conversation.

Burrow will sit out Week 18, then be right back at it in the playoffs.
