The Denver Broncos have made several roster moves ahead of their game with the Las Vegas Raiders, including elevating WR John Brown to the 53-man squad.

The Denver Broncos have announced several significant roster moves on Saturday ahead of their game with the Las Vegas Raiders. The biggest news was the designation to return from injured reserve for wide receiver Jerry Jeudy, which opens up a 21-day window for him to practice and get back onto the field.

A little less than a week ago, head coach Vic Fangio was asked how Jeudy’s recovery was coming along and things were positive, though he did note that his return was not imminent.

“Good,” Fangio said of Jeudy’s recovery. “In the last 10 days to two weeks, he’s made good progress. His return is not right around the corner, but it’s getting closer.”

So we shouldn’t expect him back this Sunday, but maybe in the next two weeks we’ll get wind of his return to the starting lineup.

Denver also elevated both new arrival at wide receiver, John Brown, and also Tyrie Cleveland as the team continues to battle depth issues due to injury at the position. Fangio wasn’t sure he’d be ready to contribute right away earlier this week, but this elevation may signal Brown is ready.

“How quickly he’ll be able to join is—we’ll see,” Fangio said on Wednesday. “These next three days will tell. Coming in cold with no background in our system, he’s got some heavy lifting to do to learn it. We’ll see how he looks, see what he can learn, and make a decision by the end of the week. I coached against him several times. He’s fast. He’s a big-play receiver and runs well with it after he catches it. In the past, he’s been a good receiver.”

They do need a guy who can stretch the field vertically, to help open up those underneath options for Teddy Bridgewater. This is where KJ Hamler has been sorely missed since he was lost for the season to injury.

The team also activated running back Mike Boone from injured reserve, so we could see him out on special teams as early as this Sunday. As we all know, the special teams unit has been suspect all season long. They definitely need the help.
