Who played a bunch and who didn’t during the Denver Broncos 27-13 win over the New York Giants in Week 1.

Offense

The majority of the offensive line played the entire game with the exception of Graham Glasgow who missed three snaps and was replaced by Netane Muti.

The wide receiver group saw Courtland Sutton (80 percent) and Tim Patrick (70 percent) seeing a majority of the snaps with Jerry Jeudy only playing 47 percent because of injury. KJ Hamler had 36 percent of the offensive snaps. We only used four WRs on offense.

Player Pos Num Pct
Garett Bolles T 66 100%
Dalton Risner G 66 100%
Bobby Massie T 66 100%
Teddy Bridgewater QB 66 100%
Lloyd Cushenberry III C 66 100%
Graham Glasgow G 63 95%
Courtland Sutton WR 53 80%
Noah Fant TE 51 77%
Tim Patrick WR 46 70%
Albert Okwuegbunam TE 37 56%
Javonte Williams RB 33 50%
Melvin Gordon RB 33 50%
Jerry Jeudy WR 31 47%
KJ Hamler WR 24 36%
Eric Saubert TE 22 33%
Netane Muti G 3 5%

Noah Fant played 77 percent of the offensive snaps with Albert Okweugbunam (56 percent) and Eric Saubert (33 percent) also seeing significant playing time. Saubert was also a major contributor on special teams playing on 17 of them (89 percent).

The running back snaps were split exactly evenly with both Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon playing half of them.

Defense

Player Pos Num Pct
Josey Jewell LB 61 100%
Ronald Darby CB 61 100%
Justin Simmons FS 61 100%
Kareem Jackson SS 61 100%
Kyle Fuller CB 55 90%
Alexander Johnson LB 51 84%
Bryce Callahan CB 51 84%
Malik Reed LB 45 74%
Von Miller LB 44 72%
Dre’Mont Jones DE 40 66%
Shelby Harris DE 32 52%
Mike Purcell NT 24 39%
DeShawn Williams DT 18 30%
Shamar Stephen DE 18 30%
Jonathon Cooper LB 17 28%
Andre Mintze LB 16 26%
Patrick Surtain II CB 16 26%

Josey Jewell, Ronald Darby, Justin Simmons and Kareem Jackson played every defensive snap.

Losing Darby temporarily to the IR should allow Patrick Surtain to play a bigger role on defense. He only played 16 defensive snaps in week one. Kyle Fuller (90 percent) and Bryce Callahan (84 percent) were the other cornerbacks we used on defense on Sunday.

Alexander Johnson played 84 percent of the defensive snaps, coming off the field on third downs this year with Jewell being the every-down ILB. Von Milller played 72 percent with Malik Reed (74 percent), Jonathan Cooper (28 percent) and Andre Mintze (26 percent) as the OLB’s. Presumably Mintze will be benched once Bradley Chubb is ready to start since he appeared to back up Reed on Sunday.

On the defensive line we rotated five guys with Dre’Mont Jones (66 percent), Shelby Harris (52 percent), Mike Purcell (39 percent), Shamar Stephen and Deshawn Williams (both 30 percent).

Special Teams

Besides Brandon McManus, Sam Martin and Jacob Bobenmoyer we had ten players who did not play on offense or defense, but who played on special teams.
