Michael Hall Jr. leads the list along with Audric Estime heading to Cleveland in this mock draft

With a name like Matt Goncalves, you better spend a lot of time working on your lower leg muscles. Calves… Cavs… Cleveland Cavaliers… Cleveland Browns!

See, a few days before the NFL draft we can still come up with creative ways to start a Browns mock draft coverage piece. A long walk for a short drink of water for sure.

We have seen a lot of common names in national mock drafts for Cleveland which isn’t surprising given the team’s limited needs and limited draft selections. Dane Brugler’s 7-round mock had DT Maason Smith (unique to the Browns) and OT Kiran Amegadjie (a player often linked to Cleveland).

Today, Pro Football Network put out a 7-round NFL mock draft just days away from the 2024 NFL draft kicking off. On top of Goncalves, their mock had a couple of interesting names for the Browns and two that we’ve seen frequently:

Round 2

DT Michael Hall Jr., The Ohio State University Buckeyes

A local product, Michael Hall Jr. would fit perfectly alongside Dalvin Tomlinson with his explosiveness, agility, and torque at 6’3″, 290 pounds.

Round 3

OT Matt Goncalves, Pittsburgh Panthers

Matt Goncalves has left-right tackle utility, but he could go on to be a quality starter at guard if necessary.

While defensive tackle has been a popular pick, there is some question whether Cleveland has room on their roster for another one this year. Goncalves flexibility is a nice skill but can he solidify the left tackle position starting as early at 2025 or would he necessitate moving Dawand Jones over?

Round 5

RB Audric Estime, Notre Dame Fighting Irish

A standard name coming to Cleveland but later than expected.

Round 6

CB Johnny Dixon, Penn State Nittany Lions

Not to be confused with former Ohio State WR Johnnie Dixon, this Dixon doesn’t fit the normal age guardrails for GM Andrew Berry but we know the Browns GM loves drafting DBs.

Round 7

QB Joe Milton, Tennessee Volunteers

Drafting Milton would almost certainly lead to moving Dorian Thompson-Robinson, perhaps to a former rival. The big-armed Milton visited Berea during the predraft process but is seen as a size, big-armed potential player more than anything else.

WR Lidetrick Griffin, Mississippi State Bulldogs

The Browns also brought in the speedy Griffin for a predraft visit. Griffin has been an electric return man in college.

What do you think of this Browns mock draft overall?
