Cornerback played in four games for Tampa Bay during the 2020 season.

The Cleveland Browns signed cornerback Herb Miller to the practice squad on Tuesday.

In a corresponding transaction, the Browns released tight end Jordan Franks from the practice squad.

The 6-foot-1 and 201-pound Miller signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019 as an undrafted free agent from Florida Atlantic University. He did not make the Chiefs roster that season and, after not catching on with another team, started to put in applications to become a police officer, according to a February story from wpbf.com.

He changed his mind when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers called and Miller earned a place on Tampa’s practice squad to open the 2020 season. He was promoted to the active roster for the final four games of the season, finishing with five tackles and an interception.

Miller was on Tampa’s practice squad for the first two weeks of this season.

During his college career, Miller played in 50 games, finishing with 103 tackles, 16 pass deflections and a pair of forced fumbles.

The 6-foot-4 and 246-pound Franks was an undrafted free agent out of Central Florida in 2018 who signed with the Cincinnati Bengals. He played in six games with the Bengals as a rookie, finishing with two catches for 37 yards.

He spent the 2019 season on Cincinnati’s practice squad, and then spent time in 2020 on the practice squad of the Philadelphia Eagles before the Browns signed him to their practice squad in mid-October.

Franks played in all three preseason games this summer with the Browns, finishing with nine receptions for 75 yards.
