Noted as TBD when the schedule came out, Browns vs Bears is not that interesting nationally now

The Cleveland Browns are used to playing games on Sundays at 1 PM. That is what happens when your team is not very good, you can often rely on knowing they will play in the early window most of the time on Sunday.

The Browns have their primetime game in Week 17 against the New York Jets. That game is reportedly not going to be flexed to a different day despite the Jets struggles. The potential for QB Aaron Rodgers to be playing is too good for the NFL to pass up.

Cleveland’s Week 15 matchup with the Chicago Bears, however, is not that interesting. When the NFL schedule came out, Browns vs Bears was listed as TBD. Now, with just a couple weeks until the game, we finally know what many expected, the game will be on Sunday at 1 PM:

Big spenders and with a big trade out of the top overall pick in the offseason, the Bears were hopeful that they could take a big step forward with QB Justin Fields this year. Instead, Chicago is 4-8 on the season.

After trading for DE Montez Sweat, the Bears made it clear that winning football games this year was still important. They have won two of their last three including beating the Minnesota Vikings 12-10 on Monday Night Football with QB Josh Dobbs throwing Chicago’s defense four interceptions.

With Christmas the following week, Browns and Bears fans can now lock in their schedule for the weekend prior at the normal Sunday slot. Cleveland fans are hoping that a win in Week 15 is one of just a few that they will need to secure a playoff spot in 2023. Chicago fans are hoping to see some life and progress from Fields and the rest of the team.

Are you surprised how late in the season the NFL schedules/changes games? Does it impact your planning?
