The Bucs seem like they are finally on track after back-to-back wins, including a 21-16 victory over the Seahawks in Germany on Sunday.

The passing game was moving as always, but the ground game also got going for the first time since Week 1. As a team, the Bucs totaled 161 yards on the ground, with rookie Rachaad White crossing over the century mark with 105 yards. Leonard Fournette ran for 57 yards and a touchdown, but was ruled doubtful to return for the fourth quarter after picking up a hip injury.

After the game, head coach Todd Bowles revealed the veteran running back’s injury to the media.

“He just has a hip pointer,” Bowles said. “We’ll evaluate it more as we get going.”

The Bucs started out of the game with Fournette on the bench, as White took the first snaps on offense. The pair would continue to exchange series and both wound up averaging over four yards per carry. Fournette finished with 14 carries and a 4.1 yards per carry average, while White had 22 rushes at 4.8 yards per carry clip. While Fournette was the one to find the end zone, it was clear White was the more explosive back.

White had runs of 29 and 18 yards. The latter was heads-up play on the final drive, too, as he slid down to keep the clock rolling and force the Seahawks to use their final timeout. On his 29-yard run, the rookie runner showed impressive strength as he stiff-armed Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs into the ground.

Injuries are never good, but Fournette’s injury does come at a convenient time as the Bucs are heading into their bye week. That will give him two weeks to recover. He could return in time for Week 12 when the team travels to Cleveland to take on the Browns, but time will tell. There is certainly a case to be made that White should start or at least see more snaps going forward, and that may even help Fournette ease back into the offense once he’s back from his injury.
