Buffalo Bills football is BACK!

The Buffalo Bills kick off their 2021 NFL preseason schedule Friday night with a clash against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.

This will be Buffalo’s first preseason game since the 2019 season, as the entire 2020 preseason slate was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Many Bills fans are wondering how much the starters will play vs. the Lions. Earlier in the week, head coach Sean McDermott said that All-Pro quarterback Josh Allen will sit out the preseason opener. Instead, the Bills will trot out Mitchell Trubisky, Davis Webb, and Jake Fromm to handle the quarterback duties.

It would appear unlikely that fellow All-Pro Stefon Diggs would see much playing time (if any) vs. Detroit, while McDermott told reporters that Buffalo’s starters who do see reps will have their playing time determined on a case-by-case basis.

Judging by the previous two preseason openers where Sean McDermott has been Buffalo’s head coach, the starters have played two series.

With roster cuts occurring following the conclusion of every preseason game, McDermott and his coaches will want to examine those players on the roster bubble beginning with the today’s preseason game against the Lions.

On the other sideline, the Lions, under their first year with Dan Campbell as head coach, will have their starters play for one quarter against the Bills.

Here’s everything you need to know about in order to watch and/or listen to the game.
