Plus, rookie WR Keon Coleman’s personality was on display during his first day in Buffalo.

Entering the 2024 NFL Draft, it was widely thought that Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane would use his draft picks to shore up the wide receiver room, considering the team dealt away Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs and lost wide receiver Gabe Davis to the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency.

Beane did address the position, adding talented “X” receiver Keon Coleman out of Florida State with the No. 33 overall pick in the second round, but today’s edition of the Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by examining the state of Buffalo’s wide receivers post-NFL Draft.

Where Buffalo’s WR room stands after NFL Draft

In selecting Keon Coleman, the Bills certainly addressed their wide receiver room, giving quarterback Josh Allen a physical receiver who is known for making contested catches and not dropping the football. Coleman can immediately slot in as the team’s starting “X” receiver, but beyond Coleman, the Bills didn’t draft any other wide receivers, choosing instead to sign veteran Chase Claypool and bring in a pair of undrafted rookie free agents — Xavier Johnson Jr. (Ohio State) and Lawrence Keys (Tulane) to pair with returners Khalil Shakir, Andy Isabella, Justin Shorter, Tyrell Shavers, K.J. Hamler and Bryan Thompson and offseason additions Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins and Quintez Cephus.

Catch up with a look at where Buffalo’s WR room stands following the draft, hear why the depth chart at WR could leave some fans wanting more, and a way-too-early 53-man roster projection.
