Buy low, sell high: Steelers send Russell Wilson to Raiders in blockbuster draft trade

Since my last “what if?” NFL draft scenario for the Pittsburgh Steelers created such a stir, we decided to do it again and try something a little different. Instead of trading away edge T.J. Watt, we decided to go with a quarterback this time around.

The Steelers added veterans Russell Wilson and Justin Fields this offseason but it is highly unlikely they are both on the roster in 2025. So why not get some value now? We ran the simulation and traded Wilson to the Las Vegas Raiders for a second-round pick. This puts the offense squarely in the hands of Justin Fields. Can the Steelers make it work with that extra second-round pick? Here’s our new seven-round mock.
