The Carolina Panthers packed 14 representatives into the Ohio State University Pro Day this afternoon, establishing a presence C.J. Stroud certainly didn’t take for granted.

Following his throwing session on Wednesday afternoon, the potential No. 1 overall pick was asked about the Panthers’ sizable assemblage at the workout.

“Appreciate them coming out, man. It means a lot,” he said. “Definitely just trying to show what I can do, showcase my talent—my God-given talent—and give it all to him. All glory to Jesus Christ.”

Carolina’s contingent featured all of its top shot callers—including owners David and Nicole Tepper, general manager Scott Fitterer and head coach Frank Reich. The team also met extensively with the quarterback prospect last night, an event he also expressed gratitude for.

“It went great,” Stroud said of the meeting. “We really didn’t get into X’s and O’s, but we just talked about life and some personal stuff and everything went really well. So I appreciate them talking to me and taking the time.”

He also appreciated that ownership being in attendance—something you don’t see too often at pro days.

“Yeah, it means a lot,” Stroud added of the Teppers. “I think that shows how much—not only that they’re interested in me—but I’m interested in them. Just to meet ’em, know ’em as people and get to know them better and better as a person. So I think that’s really big.”

The Panthers, per NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, are set to meet with Stroud again in Charlotte prior to the 2023 NFL draft.
