Chad Johnson jokes on joining Bengals after DeAngelo Hall to Panthers

Cincinnati Bengals great Chad Johnson has joked in the past about joining the coaching staff.

Along the way, he’s become one of the greatest public team ambassadors and seems like a surefire bet for the Ring of Honor soon enough.

But as players from Chad’s generation start to join coaching staffs around the league, the idea of him joining a coaching staff seems to become less of a joke and more of a what-if situation.

Just look at his latest tweet after word spread that former NFL cornerback DeAngelo Hall will join the coaching staff of the Carolina Panthers as an assistant:

It seems like a joke for now — but with a new crop of former players joining coaching staffs, who knows how long it will just be a funny thing we all handwave.
