Khalil Mack is only two sacks away from his 2015 career high mark

Good morning, Bolts From the Blue.

If I told you in August that Khalil Mack would set his career-high sack total and Keenan Allen would set career highs for receptions, yards, and touchdowns, you’d assume the Chargers had finally broken through their “Chargering” ways and won the division, right?

When Tom Telesco traded for Khalil Mack in 2022, he traded for a guy coming off his career low snap count after he ended the year on the IR so he could undergo foot surgery. There were questions about whether or not his body would begin to fall-off, and if recurring injuries would set in as they have with Joey Bosa. Instead, Mack has been a picture of reliability and consistency for the Chargers in his two seasons wearing powder blue. He’s only two sacks away from passing his career-high season sack total of 16, with six games remaining.

Keenan Allen has had a similar resurgence after missing many games last season. He is only 10 catches, 274 yards and one touchdown away from his career best numbers. Alarming, our only productive offensive skill position player sat out from practice a second straight day. There is no word yet on whether or not Allen plans on suiting up for the Patriots game.

Here is the rest of the injury report below. There are a lot of names on this list, but luckily most have been practicing in full.
