Chargers edge defender Joey Bosa is headed to the injured reserve with a sprained foot, head coach Brandon Staley said.

Bosa will miss at least four games. Staley added it is “to be determined” whether he will return this season.

Bosa suffered the injury in the first quarter during the loss to the Packers on Sunday.

He was carted to the locker room and returned to the sidelines wearing a boot and on crutches.

With Bosa out, rookie Tuli Tuipulotu will start opposite Khalil Mack. Justin Hollins will serve as the third edge defender. Additionally, they could promote Andrew Farmer or Brevin Allen from the practice squad.

In eight games, Bosa has 14 tackles, 6.5 sacks, six tackles for loss, eight quarterback hits and a forced fumble.
