The NFL Player’s Association released the 2023 NFL Player Team Report Card, which ranked the Chargers 30th overall.

It’s important to note that the Bolts are still located in a temporary facility while they await their brand new practice facility to be completed in El Segundo. The Chargers future headquarters are scheduled to open before the beginning of next season which may improve their grades and rankings.

Los Angeles earned an F in two categories, one being the ‘Treatment of Families’ category. A significant complaint from the players was that the daycare wasn’t convenient for their families to use and the organization charged them to use the daycare which isn’t typical of teams in the NFL.

“There are two categories not directly tied to the facilities that players identify as priorities — the first being the food program, which ranks last in taste and freshness,” the report stated. “The second issue is the way the team travels, as the team continues the unique practice of sending equipment along with players and staff, which leaves the team sitting on the tarmac for an extended time waiting for the plane to be loaded or unloaded.”

Nevertheless, we have entered the Harbaugh era which inevitably means many positive changes are on the way for the organization. The expectation is that the report card should look better by next season.
