Chargers have second-best odds to land RB Saquon Barkley

According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Chargers have the second-best odds of acquiring running back Saquon Barkley.

Free agency kicks off next week and the Pro-Bowler’s +275 odds (bet $100 to win $275) to land with the Bolts is an exciting proposition. 

The Texans are the current betting favorite to sign Barkley at -150.

Several question marks remain about whether current players will remain in Powder Blues after the free agency frenzy, but potential new players joining the Chargers for the 2024 season also present exciting opportunities. 

This will be the first time in his career that Barkley enters free agency, and it seems now more than ever that Los Angeles is a likely possibility for his next home. 

Barkley was the No. 2 overall pick in 2018 and could aid the Chargers’ run game, which has struggled the past few seasons.

Barkley amassed 962 rushing yards and six touchdowns last year while adding 280 receiving yards and four scores.

However, it could come down to the financial aspect, as Barkley will likely want a pretty hefty contract—currently projected to be worth $12 million per year.

Whether Barkley is a target or not, look for Los Angeles to address the running back position in free agency to boost the rushing attack.
