Yesterday’s deadline for NFL teams to cut down their rosters to 53 players has come and gone with plenty of surprising moves from around the NFL.

For the Chargers specifically, I’d say there were certainly more than one surprise that has left fans scratching their heads.

For today’s discussion, I want to hear all of your thoughts regarding some of the biggest surprises on the Chargers’ final roster.

I think it’s impossible not to mention Tyron Johnson here. A guy that looked like he could push for legitimate snaps in the offense alongside Keenan Allen and Mike Williams seemed like a sure-thing to stick around. According to Brandon Staley in his presser late yesterday, Johnson lost out to receivers who offered more value on special teams (i.e., K.J. Hill returning punts).

While I understand that, Hill’s contributions on special teams and on the offense combined do not equal what I believe was Johnson’s potential on offense, alone. Just a bummer the coaching staff did not feel the same way.

Throwing this to you guys now. Who are your biggest surprises from final cuts? Let me know what you think below.

Now for today’s links.
