Overshadowed by veterans Joey Bosa, Uchenna Nwosu and Kyler Fackrell, rookie Chris Rumph II is looking to show that he’s capable of playing the position in this league at a high level.

At yesterday’s practice in front of over 30,000 fans, Rumph did just that when he stepped on the field of SoFi Stadium during the team’s scrimmage.

Rumph, the fourth round pick, finished the day with a handful of quarterback pressures and three sacks, two of which came against UDFA Darius Harper and one against Storm Norton.

While they came against the backup offensive line, Rumph helped himself by taking advantage of his opportunities.

Rumph displayed pass rush ability, with quickness off the ball, sound hands and looseness to keep himself clean and high effort to finish plays.

Rumph likely won’t surpass Bosa, Nwosu or Fackrell in snaps this season, but he should still have a role as a key situational pass rusher.

Given the success that Staley has had with players at the position coupled with his current skillset and upside, Rumph should see some production in Year 1.
