The third-year pro is looking to build on a strong finish to last season.
The opinions around the selection of Rashan Gary with the 12th pick in the 2019 NFL Draft came hot and heavy two years ago. The Green Bay Packers seemingly went out on a limb to draft a player who had modest sack production at the University of Michigan, one who also had some nagging injury questions.
But as Gary heads into his third professional season in 2021, the Packers surely feel like they have a player on the cusp of becoming a star. Gary’s performance late in the 2020 campaign — with four sacks and seven QB hits in his final seven games — are hopefully a sign of things to come.
As the Packers look to get Gary on the field heavily once again along with the Smith Brothers, the team will hopefully get its overall pass rush back to 2019 levels, when the group was one of the best in the league. Continued good health and development from Gary would be a big step towards making that happen.
