While sacks didn’t become an official NFL stat until 1982, we’re getting a look at sacks dating back to 1960 thanks to Pro Football Reference. Still, sacks before 1982 are an unofficial stat, but it’s cool to get a glimpse at how the sacks leaders stack up when you include sacks dating back 12 more years.

Richard Dent remains Chicago’s all-time sack leader with 124.5, and Steve McMichael’s 92.5 sacks remains the second-most in franchise history. But there was some shake-up in the top five after that.

Dan Hampton moved up to third all-time with an additional 25 sacks from 1979-1981. Doug Atkins, who played from 1955 to 1966, is now fifth all-time with 64.5 sacks.

Here’s a look at the new unofficial Bears’ all-time sack leaders, per Pro Football Reference.
