Here’s the final injury report of the week for the Bears vs Rams game.

While it’s not ideal heading into Los Angeles to face the Rams shorthanded, the Chicago Bears are still holding out hope that Eddie Goldman can play on Sunday night. “We will see how it goes tomorrow,” head coach Matt Nagy said about his big nose tackle. “If he gets better tomorrow and Sunday, that will be good for him.”

Goldman tweaked his knee at Monday’s practice and hasn’t practiced since. He’s the only Bears player carrying the doubtful designation heading into the weekend, but the good news is that all six questionable Bears practiced in full today and are expected to play.

Here’s how the Bears officially list things for Sunday night.

  • Eddie Goldman, DL (Knee/ankle) – Doubtful
  • Khalil Mack, OLB (Groin) – Questionable
  • Robert Quinn, OLB (Back) – Questionable
  • Deon Bush, S (Shoulder) – Questionable
  • Eddie Jackson, S (Wrist) – Questionable
  • Darnell Mooney, WR (Back) – Questionable
  • Patrick Scales, LS (Ankle) – Questionable

As a reminder the NFL only has three injury designations. Out means the player will not play, doubtful means the player is unlikely to play, and questionable means the player is not certain to play.

There were seven other Bears on this week’s report, but that’s just a technicality as none of them carry an injury designation for Sunday’s game.

I would expect to see rookie nose tackle Khyiris Tonga get the start if Goldman can’t go, but Angelo Blackson could get un uptick in reps too. It’s also possible we’ll see one of the veteran d-linemen the Bears just signed to their practice squad (Margus Hunt or Damion Square) as one of their two callups if they so incline.

The Los Angeles Rams have a pretty clean injury report this week, with only backup wide receiver Ben Skowronek listed as doubtful, but L.A. will be without running back Cam Akers who is out for the season.
