Reid apparently became ill sometime on Sunday afternoon.
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has been taken to a Kansas City-area hospital after becoming ill after the team’s 30-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday afternoon.
We first knew something was afoot when Reid was not available for his customary post-game press conference, as reported by the Kansas City Star’s Herbie Teope.
Chiefs announce coach Andy Reid is feeling ill, so he’s not addressing media out of caution. Special teams coordinator Dave Toub is handling postgame presser.

Special-teams coordinator (and assistant head coach) Dave Toub filled in for the session with reporters.
Then there were reports that after being checked over by team doctors, Reid was taken from the Truman Sports Complex in an ambulance. Still… the reports indicated that the move was precautionary.
Chiefs announced Andy Reid was feeling ill, so he did not address media out of caution. I can confirm he left the stadium in an ambulance. Players didn’t know he wasn’t feeling well and were told he should be ok. Everything is pointing toward the Chiefs taking every precaution.

Andy Reid’s removal from the stadium via ambulance is precautionary I’m told. He wasn’t feeling great and was dehydrated but no serious concern about him medically

Later, Chiefs safety Tyrann Mathieu players took to social media to wish their Reid a speedy recovery.

We join Mathieu — and Chiefs fans everywhere — in hoping Reid will soon be released from the hospital and make a full recovery.
We will keep you posted on any other information that may develop.
