Some notes

  • The only player on the Chiefs’ 53-man roster not practicing on Wednesday was cornerback Rashad Fenton, who remains in the concussion protocol.
  • Where’s Willie Gay Jr.? Well, the injury report still does not include Gay (toe), as he remains on injured reserve. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid didn’t have much to say about his status when asked early Wednesday afternoon. Gay did not have a helmet on at practice, so it seems the Chiefs are still very much bringing him along.
  • The two players who missed last week’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers — defensive end Frank Clark (hamstring) and cornerback Charvarius Ward (quad) — were limited to start the week. Left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. (groin) and defensive end Chris Jones (wrist) were also limited. Jones was limited in practice all of last week with the same injury and wound up suiting up against the Chargers.
  • The Chiefs tapped into practice squad protections for the first time this season, using two of the four possible extensions on cornerback Dicaprio Bootle and defensive end Demone Harris. Another team cannot sign them before Sunday’s game.
  • The Eagles’ starting left tackle, Jordan Mailata (knee), did not practice on Wednesday after hurting himself in practice last week. Mailata missed Monday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. Andre Dillard would be in line to start in place of Mailata.
  • The Eagles’ offensive line is a bit of a mess, with left guard Isaac Seumalo (Lisfranc surgery) having been lost for the season Monday night and right guard Brandon Brooks (pectoral injury) already on injured reserve. Now, right tackle Lane Johnson is limited with an ankle issue.
  • Center Jason Kelce’s foot issue is not new — the Eagles give him the veteran treatment, and his limited participation is expected, so this brotherly love is still very much on the table Sunday.
