Three-game exhibition slate features a Sunday afternoon home game against the New York Giants.

The Cleveland Browns released the dates and times of their preseason schedule on Tuesday.

With the NFL expanding to a 17-game regular season in 2021, the exhibition schedule has been reduced by one game. The Browns will open and close on the road, with a Sunday afternoon home game sandwiched in between.

The Browns will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars on August 14 at 7 p.m. in Jacksonville. That game may come following a series of joint practices with the Jaguars, as Jacksonville head coach Urban Meyer has expressed an interest in practicing this summer against one of the teams on the preseason schedule.

Cleveland will host the New York Giants for the lone home game of the preseason on August 22 at 1 p.m.

A week later the Browns will close out the preseason on the road against the Atlanta Falcons for a nationally televised game on August 29 at 8 p.m.

The games against the Jaguars and Giants will be televised in the Cleveland area on News 5, while the game against the Falcons will air on NBC.

The NFL’s final roster cutdown to 53 players will take place two days after the game against the Falcons.

The COVID-19 pandemic wiped out the preseason in 2020, so this August will be the first opportunity for Browns fans to see how head coach Kevin Stefanski handles playing time as the team prepares for the season opener on September 12 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
