Cleveland Browns:

• Browns will place LB Anthony Walker on injured reserve (Browns Wire) – The injury hits keep coming for the Cleveland Browns, and now the middle of the defense takes a big hit. The Browns are placing starting linebacker Anthony Walker on injured reserve with his hamstring injury.
• Kevin Stefanski expects LBs Mack Wilson, Sione Takitaki, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah to ‘pick up the slack’, but can they? (cleveland.com) – A few absolutes formed on Sunday regarding the Browns defense. Anthony Walker not coming off the field was one of them. Cleveland’s starting middle linebacker played 62 of 63 snaps against Kansas City. Well, that’s about to change. The Browns placed Walker on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he suffered at Thursday’s practice. He’s expected back in three weeks, but leaves a massive void in the middle of the defense.
• Browns starting left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr. questionable for home opener (Beacon Journal) – The Browns have a plan for how they will proceed at left tackle for Sunday’s home opener against the Houston Texans if starter Jedrick Wills Jr. can’t play.

That wasn’t easy after his drop of a perfect snap — he couldn’t recall ever botching another — came in the fourth quarter Sunday and led to the Chiefs’ winning touchdown in a 33-29 victory over the Browns.
• Kevin Stefanski expects Grant Delpit to make NFL debut vs. Texans (clevelandbrowns.com) – A full season and one week later, Grant Delpit is expected to make his NFL debut Sunday against the Texans.

NFL:

• Vikings DE Everson Griffen in concussion protocol after car accident (ESPN) – Minnesota Vikings defensive end Everson Griffen suffered a concussion in a car accident this week after swerving to miss a deer, coach Mike Zimmer said Friday. Griffen, who landed on the injury report because of the concussion, has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.
• Roger Brown, Pro Bowl member of Detroit Lions’ Fearsome Foursome, dies at 84 years old (Detroit Free Press) – Roger Brown, a former Pro Bowl defensive tackle for the Detroit Lions, died Friday at 84 years old, the Lions announced. Brown was honored by the franchise as a member of their 2018 Pride of the Lions class along with former teammate Alex Karras and Herman Moore.
