After last year’s game at Lambeau Field was nixed due to COVID-19, the Badgers and Irish meet at a different NFC North stadium.

A year ago, the Wisconsin Badgers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish football teams were scheduled to play one another for the first time in more than 55 years. The two programs last met in 1964, but a few years ago they signed on for a two-game series to be played in neutral sites.

Those stadiums are the bastions of NFL football in the Midwest: Lambeau Field in Green Bay and Soldier Field in Chicago.

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic put an end to hopes of playing at Lambeau last year. But while the two programs have agreed to reschedule that game for the 2026 season, the 2021 edition in Chicago is still on. That game will kick off today as the top early game on the schedule, with Wisconsin serving as the “home” team.

The Badgers enter off a bye week and are favored by nearly a touchdown, despite their #18 ranking and 1-1 record. The Irish are 3-0 and sit at #12 in the Coaches’ poll, but it took them overtime to beat Florida State in week one and they eked out a last-minute victory over Toledo two weeks ago.

So tune in for this game and all of the other action today around college football and join us here to discuss the games.
