The Indianapolis Colts today released their Wednesday injury report for Week 1 of the NFL season ahead of their Sunday game.

Left guard Quenton Nelson did not practice today with foot and back injuries. Frank Reich spoke about Nelson during his press conference today with the media and said that Nelson has an ongoing back injury that flares up from time to time and the team are being extra cautious when dealing with it. Nelson needs to practice this week if he is going to start on Sunday. He has already missed huge chunks of training camp due to his foot injury and landing on the COVId-19 list.

Cornerback Xavier Rhodes did not practice today with a calf injury. It appears to be a new injury as Rhodes was healthy through training camp. Rhodes is the Colts starting corner and a new injury isn’t ideal during the first game week practice of the year. Rhodes will be one to monitor this week.

Wide receiver Parris Campbell was limited at practice today with an achilles injury. Campbell has seen his career so far littered with injuries and had almost made it through the entire off-season injury free. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shed some light on Campbell’s injury status.

Left tackle Eric Fisher was limited in practice today. The Colts said Fisher was likely to be limited today but that they would push him more to see how the injury responded with the chance he could play Week 1. There is still hope that Fisher could start against the Seahawks Sunday but this week will be very telling and he will be one to monitor Thursday and Friday.

Offensive lineman Danny Pinter and defensive end Kemoko Turay were both limited at practice today. Pinter was injured during training camp and has been working he was back. Turay has been littered with injuries throughout training camp causing him to miss time at different points, it is his groin this time.

Quarterback Carson Wentz was a full participant at practice today. Another important stepping stone on his way to starting and playing on Sunday. Wentz has hardly seen any practice time during training camp due to his foot injury and landing on the COVID-19 list. He will need all the practice time he can get and this week will be especially important.
