The Colts have added a speedy and explosive wideout and special teams returnman, Oregon State’s Anthony Gould, for next season!
The Indianapolis Colts have selected Oregon State wide receiver/special teams returnman Anthony Gould with the 142nd pick in the 5th round of the 2024 NFL Draft—which is the first of their current three fifth round picks:

While small in stature at just 5’8,” 274 pounds, Gould has impressive speed with a 4.39 forty time, while also showcasing a 39.5 inch vertical jump. He has a RAS of 8.87 out of a maximum of 10.0.
He was NFL Next Gen Stats’ 4th most athletic wideout in this year’s class:

With Gould and 2nd-round pick Adonai Mitchell, the @Colts now have two of the five most athletic wide receivers in this year’s draft by the NGS athleticism score.#NFLDraft | #ForTheShoe pic.twitter.com/1cCMm8Rc1i

Gould recorded 44 receptions for 718 receiving yards (16.3 ypr. avg.) and 2 touchdown receptions in 2023 and could be featured within Colts head coach Shane Steichen’s offense as a vertical threat, as well as on jet sweeps and wide receiver screens.
However, where he may make his most significant mark is on special teams with his explosive return ability—which is something that the Colts were looking to address this offseason with no clear primary returnman headed into next season.
With the recent changes in kickoffs (*and turning it back into a competitive football play), Gould could have even more value for Indianapolis going forward on special teams returns.
Here’s what else they’re saying on Gould:
#Colts just got one of the best PR and downfield WRs in Anthony Gould.
Almost 40% of his catches in 2023 went for 15+ yards, and can play slot early and outside. 4.39 forty time too.
Elite return prospect. Had a PR TD in @ShrineBowl game. New NFL kickoff #ShrineBowlWhosNext https://t.co/XUFcqygAhx pic.twitter.com/CpkLmD8dfF

.@BeaverFootball WR/PR Anthony Gould is one of fastest players that @seniorbowl has seen on tape this year, which explains why he’s averaging over 20 yards per catch this year. @antgould_ also averaged 18.3 with 2 TD on punt returns last year.
And he ran 10.6 100m in HS. … pic.twitter.com/NB3NugKQqb
