Colts’ Zaire Franklin recruiting L’Jarius Sneed, Quandre Diggs

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Zaire Franklin recently got a huge (and much-deserved) payday. Now he’s shifted his focus to not-so-subtly recruiting Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and free agent safety Quandre Diggs.

Colts fans, the boys are back in town.

Since the start of free agency, general manager Chris Ballard has secured major pieces like Michael Pittman Jr., Grover Stewart, Kenny Moore II, and Zaire Franklin. Franklin has decided to turn up the party and has taken it upon himself to recruit some more “boys”: Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed and free agent safety Quandre Diggs.

Sneed is currently in contract negotiations after receiving the franchise tag, but it’s possible he could be traded to a new team. The Seattle Seahawks released Diggs, and he needs a new home. Franklin is aware of those facts and has been keeping a pulse on what’s happening with both players. On Wednesday, he tweeted that he just wanted to chat with Sneed and Diggs.

Shortly after Franklin’s tweet, Diggs responded to him with a single eyes emoji, and fans uncovered that Sneed discreetly liked the tweet, fueling online speculation about what could be happening behind the scenes.

The Colts need secondary help in the worst way, and it’s one of the biggest needs the team has yet to address. That’s not stopping Franklin from doing his job as a captain to bring in some big pieces.
