The Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans will have a very special guest when they do battle in Nashville for the AFC Divisional Playoff Saturday night.

None other than commissioner Roger Goodell.

Goodell talked with Bengals fans in a forum during a virtual event on Wednesday which was hosted by Bengals president Mike Brown and moderated by Dan Hoard, the radio voice of the Bengals.

Goodell felt so good for Bengals fans after their Wild Card win over the Las Vegas Raiders last week, as captured by Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com:

“You see the fan base and how much it meant to them. I kept looking at the signs in the stands,” Goodell said. “I know how much it meant to Mike Brown and the entire organization. You want to see people succeed that have that passion for the game and work so hard and the Bengals have done that. They’ve done an incredible job putting this roster together, this coaching staff together and they’re really building excitement. It’s hard to win in this league and it’s hard to win over the long term. To see them have success after so long without that playoff victory and to see them get that I think it was heartwarming for all of us but maybe Raiders fans.”

Now, Goodell will be in attendance as the Bengals look for their first appearance in the AFC Championship Game since reaching Super Bowl XXIII in the 1988 season against the franchise whom their last playoff win before last Saturday came against, the Houston Oilers in the 1990 Wild Card Playoff.
