Corey Linsley ‘99 percent’ likely to retire due to heart condition

The Chargers former All-Pro center is likely calling it quits after 10 seasons in the NFL.

Following the Chargers’ dramatic win over the Vikings in Week Three, the news came out that Corey Linsley had discovered he was afflicted with a non-emergent heart condition that would sideline him for the foreseeable future. Fast-forward to the end of the regular season and Linsley never made it back onto the field for the Chargers.

On Monday morning, Linsley stood at the podium and took questions from the media for the first time since he was sidelined with the condition. According to those in attendance, Linsley stated that he was “99 percent sure” that he will retire this offseason, putting an end to one of the best career for a center in recent memory.

Originally a fifth-round pick of the Packers in 2014, Linsley played seven seasons in Green Bay where he was named a First-Team All-Pro in his final season with the team. Linsley then signed a massive five-year $62.5 million contract with the Chargers during the 2021 offseason. In his first year with the Bolts, Linsley was named a Second-Team All-Pro.
