The Colts have a few different directions they could go with thier first pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, but right now, the betting odds from BETMGM say that cornerback will be the selection at 15th overall.

At +130, cornerback is the favorite for the Colts. Defensive lineman or edge rusher is second at +400, receiver is third at +300, and tight end is fourth at +400.

At the cornerback position, the Colts have Kenny Moore returning as their nickel option, while JuJu Brents, Jaylon Jones, and Dallis Flowers will be options on the boundary.

Recently, GM Chris Ballard did say that he liked this young trio. However, this is a position group that struggled down the stretch, allowing a completion rate of 68 percent in the final four games. Big plays were an issue with the Colts defense ranking 21st in yards per attempt allowed and 22nd in pass breakups.

The general consensus top cornerbacks in this class are Alabama’s Terrion Arnold and Toledo’s Quinyon Mitchell. Potentially helping to push these players down to the Colts are that the offensive tackle and wide receiver classes this year are loaded, not to mention that it looks like at least four quarterbacks will be taken before the Colts are on the clock.

For every offensive player that is selected before pick 15, the better the chances are that the Colts can land either Arnold or Mitchell.

After those two, Cooper DeJean from Iowa, Nate Wiggins from Clemson, and Kool-Aid McKinstry from Alabama are other available options for the position.

Non-cornerbacks that could be in play for the Colts in the first round could include tight end Brock Bowers, who is among the betting favorites to be picked by the Colts, wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., and edge rushers Laiatu Latue, and Jared Verse.

If the Colts don’t select a cornerback in the first round, they should have the option to find some more immediate help on Day 2, given that this is a fairly deep draft class at that position. On Daniel Jeremiah’s big board, seven cornerbacks are listed in his top 50 overall prospects.
