As a run-heavy football team, the Baltimore Ravens need to have multiple playmakers who can make magic happen on the ground. With running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards as well as quarterback Lamar Jackson, they certainly have dynamic threats to pick up yards in chunks.

Former Baltimore scout and current NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah attended the Ravens’ training camp practice on Tuesday, and came away extremely impressed by the former Ohio State University star in Dobbins.

Jeremiah also put out five “nuggets” from Baltimore training camp, and Dobbins graced the top of his list.

Dobbins saw his rookie season start slowly, as he only accumulated 25 carries throughout his first six career games. However, he took the league by storm over the second half of 2020, finishing the year with 134 carries, 805 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns while leading all running backs in yards per carry with 6.0. He didn’t contribute much as a pass catcher, but is expected to take a big leap in that regard during this upcoming season.

If everything goes right for Dobbins and the Ravens in 2021, the second-year running back could be looking at a Pro Bowl year. Jeremiah said that Dobbins could reach 1,400 or 1,500 yards, and with how effective the running back is, put together with how often Baltimore runs the football, those expectations could certainly be met.
