Let’s do this, people!

Ladies and gentlemen, it is once again time for us to football.

Yes, the preseason opener is upon us, as we are ready for kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium. This afternoon, our Minnesota Vikings play host to the Denver Broncos in the first preseason game either of these teams has played since 2019. Sure, it doesn’t count, but it’s pretty damn great to see all the same, isn’t it?

Here’s everything you need to know about today’s game.

Time: Saturday, 14 August, 2021, 3:00 PM Central time

Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Television coverage: You can watch via the NFL Network, or through any of the affiliates that you can see right here if you don’t have it.

Radio coverage: Vikings Radio Network, Sirius and XM Channel 88

Line: Nope. Stop betting on preseason games, seriously.

Chris’ Prediction: It doesn’t matter what my prediction is. I just predict I’m going to be happy to watch the Vikings again.

Three Keys

1) No significant injuries – Yeah, this is going to be the first key to all the preseason games again this year, because it’s really the only thing that matters.

2) How does the offensive line look? – With first-round pick Christian Darrisaw on the shelf for this one and the new offense brought by Kubiak the Younger, it’s going to be interesting to see how the offensive line handles things. The first-string guys will only get a series or two, but we should get at least some indication on how things are going so far.

3) The battle for WR3 – Justin Jefferson probably isn’t going to see the field this preseason, and Adam Thielen is probably going to be limited as well. That’s going to mean a lot of opportunities for younger players to grab that third wide receiver spot, and it’s going to be fun to see who takes advantage of it.

We’re a little less than thirty minutes from kickoff here, folks. We’ll fire up the Open Thread for the second half during halftime, so be sure to keep an eye out for that. With that, let’s enjoy the game and hope that both teams come out of it healthy.

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
