The New York Jets’ draft answered some needs, but did it do enough?

The New York Jets’ draft class in 2024 was largely about insuring the depth of the team both in 2024 and beyond. The two most obvious needs were at offensive tackle and wide receiver, which, as expected, the Jets addressed with their first two picks.

As a whole, though, did the Jets do enough to make sure the depth of their team was solid? Or are there still more moves that the team needs to make?

On this week’s episode of The Score Boord podcast, Adam B, known fondly to Jets YouTube as wa2k99, joined the show to answer questions about the depth and the direction of the team. He discussed the moves that most surprised him and the remaining moves the Jets need to make.

Adam had some innovative takes on Jets topics, including:

  • The real reason behind the John Franklin-Myers trade, and why the Jets couldn’t give JFM the same contract that Denver did
  • The chances that the Jets extend Michael Carter II and D.J. Reed
  • Who will be the second-most targeted Jets player behind Garrett Wilson
  • How quickly Malachi Corley can integrate into the offense
  • Who the No. 2 running back will be
  • Whether the Jets will bring in another safety, interior defensive lineman, or receiver
  • Which 2023-24 draft picks and undrafted free agents will and will not make the team
