DFS Tournament plays for week five of the NFL regular season

Last week’s recommendations and their DraftKings points:

Another week, another injury. These recommendations are beginning to be as cursed as the Madden cover. David Montgomery will now miss several weeks with injury, but he did have a great game before going down. This lineup had a couple of high spots with DeVonta Smith and Montgomery but sadly the pass-catchers let everyone down. The Cardinals receivers seems to hit every week but identifying which one will explode is maddening. The Cardinals will continue to put up great fantasy numbers so in tournament settings it is worth having one or more on a team. The Saints DST let everyone down this past week. They were one of the best projected in all stats going into their first home game of the year but laid an egg. Using these results and weeks past, we can move on to DraftKings DFS week five and strive to be the best.

DraftKings DFS Plays for Week Five of the Regular Season

The Dallas Cowboys offense has evolved into a shared backfield. Ezekiel Elliot is still the primary back for this pass-blocking skillset, but Tony Pollard has emerged as the homerun hitter. The Cowboys face the Giants this week who give up 4.5 yards per carry on the year. The Giants pass rush is unlikely to scare the Cowboys offensive line, meaning Pollard should see the field plenty in week five. If the Cowboys get a lead, then they are also likely to work Pollard in the second half. For $5,600, the Pollard upside to be a top-10 running back in week five is available.

Marvin Jones Jr. could be a sneaky play this week. The Jacksonville Jaguars are going through more turmoil off the field, but on the field, Jones Jr. has been a solid option for Trevor Lawrence. In week five, the Jaguars play a divisional game against the struggling Tennessee Titans. Last year with the Lions, Jones Jr. faced the Titans and had an explosive game. He caught 10 passes for 112 yards and one touchdown. With the way the Titans secondary has played so far this year, this might be another breakout chance for Jones Jr. and the Jaguars.

The Packers have been middle of the pack against the pass but that was before Jaire Alexander’s injury. Do not expect the Bengals to slow down Aaron Rodgers though. This game could easily be one of the highest on Sunday’s slate so make sure to get some piece of it. Ja’Marr Chase is priced great at $5,800, especially since his targets have gone up in each of the past three games. He had nine targets last week. The Bengals now come off of 10 days rest and get a game at home. Chase and Joe Burrow are worthy to be started in tournaments this week.

Zach Ertz is back. Ertz has run nearly the same amount of amount of routes the past two weeks as Dallas Geodert, including 29 last week. This led to him having the most targets of the year as well at eight. The Eagles are having to throw the ball most of the time this year so that lends to good things for any pass-catcher on the team. Ertz is still heavily discounted on DraftKings at just $3,400. The Eagles play the Panthers in week five who will be looking for a bounce back game, but the Eagles have not had any trouble moving the ball so far this year.

The Cardinals defense slowed down the Rams last week. In week five, they are likely to get Trey Lance in his first action as a starter. The Cardinals defense is fast enough to contain him, especially with how timid he looked in action last week. With these suggestions, players will have $26,600 left to spend on quality players. This is enough to pay up for someone like Kyler Murray or Dalvin Cook. Good luck in week five.
