Uh, what?

The Philadelphia Eagles officially announced the inactives list for their 2021 NFL Week 4 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The following five Eagles players have been ruled INACTIVE: Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Gardner Minshew, Mac McCain, and Marlon Tuipulotu.

Johnson being out is a shocker. He wasn’t listed with a game status on the final injury report. The Eagles are saying that Johnson is out due to a “personal matter.”

Mailata was ruled out on the final injury report. The Eagles will start Andre Dillard at left tackle. With Frank Clark out, Dillard is catching a break for the second week in a row.

With the Eagles’ starting tackles both out, the offensive line might look like this:

Left tackle — Andre Dillard
Left guard — Landon Dickerson
Center — Jason Kelce
Right guard — Nate Herbig
Right tackle — Jack Driscoll

Yikes. Not ideal!

Alternatively, the Eagles could have Driscoll at right guard (he was reportedly set to start there, according to Derrick Gunn) and Brett Toth at right tackle.

Either way, not great.

Rodney McLeod is active for his first game since tearing his ACL in December last year. He figures to start next to Anthony Harris. It’s unclear if McLeod will be able to play 100% of the defensive snaps or if he’ll be eased in.

Josiah Scott is active for his first game with the Eagles after being activated from IR.

Jack Anderson is active for his first game with the Eagles with Philly needing extra offensive line depth.

Philadelphia Eagles Inactive List

OT Lane Johnson – Personal matter.

OT Jordan Mailata – Injury.

QB Gardner Minshew – Third string quarterback.

DT Marlon Tuipulotu – Depth defensive tackle.

CB Mac McCain – Depth cornerback.

Kansas City Chiefs Inactive List

No surprises for the Chiefs. KC is missing the aforementioned Clark, their top edge rusher, and starting cornerback Charvarius Ward. Some dude named “Dicaprio Bootle” might see playing time at CB for the Chiefs.

DE Frank Clark

CB Charvarius Ward

CB Rashad Fenton

WR Daurice Fountain

OL Austin Blythe

OG Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff
