According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via the Pat McAfee Show on Monday, the Chargers want Jim Harbaugh to be their next head coach.

“I believe the Chargers are targeting Harbaugh to be their guy,” Schefter said.

The Chargers interviewed Harbaugh on Monday, but everything presumably boils down to whether both parties can agree on the proper arrangements and accommodations for him to be the next head coach of the Bolts.

As Schefter spoke with McAfee, he sums up what needs to take place in one crucial question: “Can the Chargers set up their organization in a way that would make Jim comfortable?”

That stems not only from a financial agreement but also from making sure Harbaugh is being accommodated with things like the staff, which includes the next general manager.

After several disappointing seasons, owner Dean Spanos cleaned house like many fans were hoping for; however, this next step is, in many ways, what Chargers fans will remember more.

If the front office gets this right, not only would it make fans happy, but it would mean Harbaugh and Justin Herbert could lead a winning team.

“But Jim can be highly unpredictable, there’s no assurance it gets done,” Schefter stated.

Although Harbaugh may be unpredictable in nature, he has expressed great interest in wanting to coach Herbert and that is arguably the franchise’s most distinguished enticement for Harbaugh.
