Former Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has found a new job.

Schottenheimer is joining the Cowboys’ staff in a role that will see him assist both of the team’s coordinators, per SI’s Albert Breer. Dan Quinn is the defensive coordinator in Dallas, while Kellen Moore is the offensive coordinator.

Schottenheimer will focus on NFL trends and game-planning. Ben McAdoo filled a similar gig with the Cowboys last season.

Schottenheimer most recently worked with the Jaguars as their passing game coordinator in 2021. He assumed play-calling duties at the end of the season after head coach Urban Meyer was fired and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell was elevated to interim head coach.

Schottenheimer was the Jets’ offensive coordinator from 2006-2011, coaching under Eric Mangini and Rex Ryan. Schottenheimer took on the same role with the Rams and Seahawks. Schottenheimer was also Georgia’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in 2015.
