Links for gameday*

It’s gameday*, Falcoholics. We’ve made it through the doldrums, through training camp, through Qadree Ollison’s philosophical propositions for Atlanta Falcons social content, and we’re getting actual Falcons football*. That’s a way to start a Friday, indeed.

Read on for Falcoholinks prior to gameday*.

Falcons – Titans preseason preview

The Falcons will take on the Titans tonight for their first preseason tilt of the 2021 NFL season. The team made a couple of key moves ahead of this one — including signing RB D’Onta Foreman and welcoming RT Kaleb McGary back from PUP — but McGary is unlikely to play in tonight’s affair.

So what do we know about the Tennessee Titans ahead of the game this evening? Well, quite a bit. Their former offensive coordinator and current Declaration of Independence thief** Arthur Smith has assumed the reins as Atlanta’s new head coach — and that Julio Jones thing that happened. Naturally, Smith’s first game* in Atlanta is against his old squad.

We’ve keyed in on three players whose stock is rising due to their camp performance, and three who need a leap heading into the first preseason game.

Atlanta has listed Willie Beavers at right tackle ahead of this one, which pretty much confirms Kaleb McGary’s ease back into the offense. That’s the source of our biggest question heading into the matchup against Tennessee: What’s the pecking order on the offensive line?

**Arthur Smith did not steal the Declaration of Independence. He just looks like Nicolas Cage, who did steal it (allegedly) in a cinematic tour-de-force.
